In The Legend of the Sleepwalking Tricks, young men listen to death metal while sipping milk laced with sleeping pills. A fictional romance between hero and starlet serves as backdrop for The Joyful Mysteries, while the dark legend of serial killer Andrew Cunanan is turned into a post-colonial critique with St. Andy Q. Recently Banal is touching on miracles and visions, film cultures and natural disasters."
