The idea of my project, regarding the subject of the exhibition in Reggio Emilia – HUMAN, ALL TOO HUMAN is simple: it will be the kind of manipulated, digitally stimulated performance in which my body is the metaphor of the body of the image which we try to discuss; where a particular treatment of the image itself, of it’s body is in fact a particular treatment of my body. My project is an attempt of combining real, performative experience with virtual fantasy in the form of image illusion, and at experiencing one’s ow body as both an impassable physicality and a flat image which can be manipulated easily. My body in the project will be as flexible and unreliable as today’s image. In fact – the body of the image today is the body of the acrobat, flexible, malleable object without any limits.

James Rosenquist. Painting Below Zero: Notes on a Life in Art.
“Frank, funny, truthful, ironic and in every way an entertaining account of one major American artist’s involvement in an art movement that interests everyone–and, more than that, of his own character. Jim Rosenquist is a true American original and his book ought to be read by anyone who wants to understand the last half-century of his country’s visual culture, high, low, and in between.” –Robert Hughes, amazon
